Are you confusing the model for the territory itself?

Are you confusing the model for the territory itself?

All the Team Human podcasts are worth listening to - in episode 287 (March 20, 2024) The Model is Not the Territory Douglas Rushkoff asks us to consider the importance of distinguishing between models and the reality they are meant to represent... meant to simplify, really.

Put another way, we've all heard:

The map is not the territory.

No model is perfect, and over time you may realize the model you've spent so much time crafting really isn't accurate anymore.

Do you ignore the cracks and fool yourself into thinking it will continue to serve you as it has always done? Or is it finally time to throw the outdated model away and start building a new one?
