What makes the desert beautiful?

While this question has a specific answer, I think it is safe to include it here - as 'the well' means different things to different people in 'the desert.'

What makes the desert beautiful
said the Little Prince
is that it hides a well.

So really the question is:

What do you consider beautiful?
What external forces have lead you to that specific definition of beauty?

As the Fox explains what makes the desert beautiful is not merely its vast expanse of sand, but rather the hidden qualities that lie beneath the surface.

And perhaps most importantly:

What cost is associated with your definition of beauty?
